Kelly LaVallie
President
Kelly co-founded Tse’khene Energy Transition Hub with her late husband, Dave LaVallie, and serves as the CFO. She brings considerable executive level experience to TETH, including partnership roles at several nationally recognized accounting firms and fractional CFO roles.
Kelly began her accounting career articling at Deloitte and has held a Chartered Professional Accountant designation for over three decades, during which time she has been a partner at Johnsen Archer LLP, MNP LLP, and Colins Barrow LLP. She has also held fractional CFO roles for numerous companies across Canada, with revenue profiles ranging from C$ 5-50 million.
Kelly and Dave were partners in both life and business. They worked together daily and were responsible for billions of dollars of successful development and thousands of new jobs.

Doug Arnell
Chairperson of the Board of Directors
Tse’khene Energy Transition Hub appointed Doug as its Chief Executive Officer in August 2023 and transitioned to Chair of the Board in April 2024. Doug comes to TETH as an accomplished senior executive with nearly three decades of experience in the energy industry, including extensive transactional success in energy infrastructure development and project execution.
Doug was formerly the CEO of Golar LNG where he successfully originated, developed, and closed on approximately $US 2.7 billion in energy projects, including the world’s first commercially operating floating LNG production vessel. He is also the Chair of the Board of Methanex Corporation, the world’s largest producer and supplier of methanol and CEO of Cedar LNG, Canada’s first indigenous majority-owned LNG facility.

Matt Buchholz
Chief Executive Officer
Matt is the Chief Executive Officer of the Tse’khene Energy Transition Hub, the largest Indigenous-led, On Reserve clean energy project in Canadian history. He is also the President of the MKNLY Group of Companies. Additionally, he serves as a Member of the Investment Committee for the Metis Settlements Development Corporation and is an Adjunct Professor at the IE Business School Master In Finance Program. In 2023, he was given an Award for Teaching Excellence by IE for the course “Private Equity Infrastructure.” Previously, he built and subsequently led Accenture’s Deal Execution Team in Canada and was the first Senior Associate hired into Berkshire Hathaway Energy when it opened its Canadian office. In 2016, Alberta Oil Magazine named him one of the “Top 35 Under 35 in Canada’s Energy Sector.” Matt received his Master of Finance from IE Business School and Bachelor of Arts from the University of Calgary. In his spare time, he loves playing hockey and golf, travelling, and studying history. Matt is grateful for his time with family and friends.

Josef Hocher
Legal Counsel
Joe is an energy and decarbonization executive with considerable international experience. He is a partner in the Business Law Group of Cassels Brock & Blackwell LLP, a member of its Executive Commitee, and serves as Executive Vice-President and Chief Legal Officer at Tse’khene Energy Transition Hub. His focus includes public and private energy-related production, domestic and foreign government relations, First NaCons infrastructure development, as well as specific focus in the hydrogen, ammonia, and electric power subsectors. Prior to joining Cassels, Mr. Hocher was a partner at Osler, Hoskin and Harcourt LLP and, prior to that, BenneI Jones LLP. At the age of 33, Mr. Hocher was named by the National Post and Lexpert magazine as one of the top 40 lawyers in Canada under the age of 40 and has been recognized by the Lexpert Directory as a leading practitioner in energy

Jacob Albertson
CEO, Duz Cho Group of Companies
Jacob is the Chief Executive Officer of the Duz Cho Group of Companies. Duz Cho is an accomplished civil construction company that is wholly owned by the McLeod Lake Indian Band (“MLIB”). Duz Cho also holds MLIB’s interest in the Tse’khene Energy Transition Hub, on which Jacob is a trusted and key advisor.
During Jacob’s time as CEO, Duz Cho’s revenue, profitability, and number of people employed have all increased materially. He has also negotiated numerous large contracts that have involved, and brought benefit to, multiple First Nations.
Prior to joining Duz Cho, Jacob spent nearly two decades in the British Columbia civil construction and forestry industries. In his free time Jacob enjoys spending quality time with his family, the outdoors, and working with community members on small home-based projects.

Gary Ley
Gary Ley Public Affairs
Gary has provided senior counsel to leading organizations for more than 30 years. He has managed more than 60 corporate crises and counsels clients on government relations, issue and reputation management, and strategic communications.
Gary’s clients include First NaCons and resource, energy, and transportation companies. His has held senior consulting and executive roles for Burson-Marsteller, NATIONAL Public Relations, and a large Canadian mining company.
Gary has received numerous awards for his work and has been a guest lecturer at the Banff School of Advanced Management, the University of Calgary Executive Development Program, the UBC and SFU MBA programs, and the Young Presidents Organization. He earned his B.Sc. in Journalism at the University of Oregon.

Adam Hart
Chief Financial Officer
Adam is the Chief Financial Officer of the TETH and the McKinley Group of Companies, a collection of architecture, design and procurement companies, as well the Vice Chair of the Board of Directors for the Duz Cho Group. Additionally, Adam provides strategic guidance and fractional CFO services to numerous private clients in Canada and the United States. Adam holds a Bachelor of Commerce from McGill University with a Major in Economics and a Minor in Accounting. Previously, Adam worked for a number of private small-to-medium sized clients in the energy services, retail and speciality manufacturing industries as well as built and subsequently led the Finance and Operations division for Citrus Capital, a boutique consulting firm in Calgary. In his spare time, Adam enjoys attempting to stop pucks for his beer league hockey team, golf and spending time with his wife and family.
